Maple
(Acer Macrophyllum)

A light coloured timber grown in North America and Canada. Very hard wearing extremely stable and durable. Subtle graining which is more meandering than straight. Varies in colour from creamy white to very light brown with some pinky hues too. Not a good timber for staining but takes polyurethanes well and the right oil can add more depth of colour.
