Jatoba
(Hymenaea Courbaril)

Also know as Brazilian Cherry. A dark, durable timber that is 25% more hard wearing than American Red Oak. It is to be found in Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. Being a deep red wood that varies from a beautiful orangey/red hue to reddish brown, it adds a huge amount of warmth to a room. It is very close grained but will take oils, waxes and polyurethanes equally well.
